Happy Feet

Whilst a twittering today, I came across a tweet from @bbcstrictly. They asked who our dance idols are. That got me to thinking. I love dancing, musicals, and the ballet. Below are a snippet of some of my very favourite performances. What are yours?

Paso Doble from Strictly Ballroom

Brian & Ali Bastian's American Smooth (SCD Series 7)

Jennie Garth & Derek Hough's Rumba (DWTS Season 5)

'Moses Supposes' from Singing in the Rain. Gene Kelly and Donald O'Conor are amazing! (I have a little crush on Gene. *sigh*)

Vincent & Flavia's Milonga (SCD Series 6)

Swing Kids (Who knew Wilson was a hoofer? I have to learn to dance like this!)

'Steppin Time' from Mary Poppins

Mikhail Baryshnikov in White Knights: '11 Pirouettes, 11 Rubles'

Kristina Rihanoff & John Sergeant's Paso Doble (SCD Series 6)

And last, but certainly not least: 'I've Had the Time of My Life,' the final dance in Dirty Dancing.

Hi Sarah - great post. I love any Michael Jackson group choreography, Dirty Dancing(goes without saying) and the final 3 person tango in Take the Lead. And, I thought Madonna (Eva) and Antonio (Che) danced a beautifully tender number in Evita .

And naturally, any thing Brian and Kristina do!

Squee!! I love White Nights! My mom and I thought we were the only people on the planet who saw it. Mikhail Baryshnikov was just wonderful--of course, he always is.
