Sewing for Gran-Gran the Fabulous

My mum (aka Gran-Gran the Fabulous) needs trousers. She tried on 18 pairs this weekend and none of them fit her how she likes.

My heart hurt when she told me that. I know how it is to have clothes that don't fit and it's no end of frustration. So, I told mum I was going to sew her some trousers.

My mum is a chic woman. She's fit as a fiddle as she's an experienced race walker. She has many half and full marathons under her belt. She's got a lovely figure and I've found some great patterns for her.

First up is Simplicity 9483, View A. Mum wants these in olive, khaki, and navy twill. Nice, classic fit trousers that will look really good on her.

I've pushed her personal envelope a bit and am making her a pair of Artisan Pants from Indygo Junction. Like I said, she's chic and View A will look amazing on her. I have some very lightweight medium wash denim in my stash to use.

She'll be stopping traffic. And she'll be happy, which is most important.

I bought this pattern for both mum and I and will be making some fun tops with it. After all, I do have rather a large *ahem* stash. (4 Rubbermaid bins full, to be exact.)
