A Miss and A Hit

Last weekend I finally tried the Oliver + S Puppet Show Shorts. All was going well until I started to put the shorts together. I flip-flopped one of the legs and botched the whole thing. *ugh* This is something that rarely ever happens, so it's doubly frustrating for perfectionist me. Argh!

I tried six ways to Sunday to sort it out, but it just wasn't working. Definitely a miss for me.

I do absolutely love those pockets, though! They are so cute and remind me of flower petals. These are definitely going to be used in other 'ensembles' for Miss Friday.

I'm not sure if I like this pattern or not. Maybe it's because I'm using twill? Miss Friday needs durable shorts, so twill it is. I think I'll tweak the waistband to make it less bulky and go from there. I'll definitely be reusing the pockets on the second attempt. I think they look really cute with the vintage mother-of-pearl button from my stash.
